Be a volunteer director for the new Economic Development Corporation.
The City needs you to serve as a director of the new Economic Development Corporation (EDC). The EDC will work on projects for improvements to public parks, park facilities, and open spaces, public landscaping, and streets and roads, drainage, and related improvements. Most importantly, the EDC will work to bring in projects to promote new or expanded business that create or retain jobs. With your help, all of these things will build a solid economy for Bartlett.
Seven directors are needed for the EDC. To qualify, you must (1) be a resident of the municipality; (2) be a resident of either the Bell or Williamson county side of the city; or (3) live within 10 miles of the city limits and in either county. Bartlett needs your input, and your experience not just to make Bartlett better but to make it great!
The City is also in need of directors for the Municipal Development District (MDD). The MDD will work with the EDC to bring in and support economic projects for the City. As a director for either group, you will be a part of progress for Bartlett.
If you are interested in serving your city, please contact city council liaison for economic development, City Councilman Dean Roome at 254-527-4422.
The City Council will appoint persons to serve on the EDC board at a future council meeting.
