City of Bartlett
140 W. Clark St. - Post Office Drawer H - Bartlett, Texas 76511 - 254.527.3219 254.527.4280fax
The Bartlett City Council will meet Monday, February 27th to discuss a number of important issues.
Needing immediate action is the transfer of over $145,000 from general funds to the interest and sinking fund. This is for the semi-annual payment on the refunding bond of over $1.3 million.
In addition, a report on the progress of the city’s finances will be presented. City staff and Councilmember Hall have been sorting through a pile of invoices, some over a year old, and have been paying those that are outstanding. The financial analyst will report on the progress in straightening out the city’s books and accounting. These are requiring extensive rework as many entries had not been entered and reconciliations had not been performed. The plan is to have these organized and in place for immediate access to financial information.
Also to be discussed is an update on the responses to the violations from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). There are several violations dating back to 2010 which the City is addressing. Utility Support Services has been assembling data in response to the citations. The long-range goal is to reduce or avoid any associated fines which TCEQ might assess from these violations.
The meeting begins at 6pm at City Hall.
